Acute/Disaster Therapy

Pre-Requisites: Completion of Therapy Class

Class Fee: $120

If you have found your calling with your best friend as a Therapy team, you may be interested in expanding to other and more challenging areas.

The Acute Therapy portion of the training program will prepare you to enter and provide aid and comfort into an expanded environment including Group Homes, Mentally and Physically challenged Schools and Homes, as well as many Hospice wards.

The Disaster Therapy portion of the training program will prepare you to offer the ultimate in comfort, to those that are victims of natural and man made disasters. In this portion of the program, your Therapy skills are challenged to enable you and your K-9 partner the ability to enter a mass disaster area with a calm reliance that both of you are prepared to face any challenge with a cool head and in a professional manor.

This program is not for everyone, but if you are serious about Therapy, it may be perfect for you. Successful completion of this program will qualify the student team to gain membership into BPFK-9SAR Disaster Therapy Dog Group.
